Ways to Use Raw Hemp Flower

[Addison Farm Raw Hemp Flower]

Raw hemp flower is rich in cannabinol (CBD), which is one of the many wonderful cannabinoids in hemp.  It has a myriad of benefits for our overall health and well being, but what the heck can you do with it?  We get this question a lot and we think the possibilities are endless, really!

We, at Addison Farm, have tried a couple of different things that have worked for us so we wanted to share them with you:

  1. Coffee:  Grind up raw hemp flower (or trim) and sprinkle it into your coffee (we use 0.2 grams).  Hemp is not water soluble so it helps to add some sort of fat to your coffee (for example, milk, MCT Oil, or butter) to help absorb the hemp.

  2. Pumpkin Bread (we call it Hempkin Bread in our house!):  Grind up raw hemp flower (or trim) (we use 3.5 grams) and use it in the delicious Hempkin Bread recipe (see recipe at bottom of page).  This recipe makes 3 loaves and we cut each loaf into 7 pieces, for a total of 21 pieces (or 21 days worth of CBD).  It can be frozen as well.

  3. Another Option:  A lot of people are making homemade CBD oil.  Even though we are in the process of getting our own Addison Farm CBD Oil (yay!) to sell, we think buying the raw hemp flower and making your own is a great option too!  Here is a recipe from Wake + Bake, for all of those willing to try it themselves:  Healing without the High: Homemade CBD Oil Recipe

Our advice - be creative!  Using the raw hemp flower can be a great alternative to taking CBD oil or other CBD products.  With raw hemp flower, you are getting the entire cannabinoid profile at a fraction of the cost.  It takes a little more work to calculate the amount and put it into your drinks or food, but we think it’s worth it.  Remember, everyone metabolizes and absorbs CBD at different rates, and will respond differently to it once they metabolize it.  Therefore, you may want to start small and build up to see what works best for you.
